Inspired by 1990s sci-fi and biomimicry, Icky Purrls aims to create statement pieces that add a fantasy element to everyday jewellery. Each creation is assembled with ample love and attention, as I like to imagine that I'm sending them off into the world to live their own little lives. Materials used are second-hand when possible, sourced from estate sales, thrift stores, flea markets, rock and gem shows, and more; they are combined to create one-of-none pieces (as they cannot be recreated in entirety). 

Icky is a one-woman show operated in ‘Vancouver’*, Canada. It originally started as a hobby and creative outlet during the Covid-19 lockdown and to give pieces to friends and family as gifts and slivers of joy. The outlet quickly turned into an entrancement with everything pearl and crystal. 

Since the start of Icky Purrls (July 2023), I am so pleased that over 200 pieces have been purchased by the loveliest people. This passion project has given me so much joy and so much to look forward to. The community that has been created from Icky is truly (although possibly biased) more expansive and filled with more love than I ever could have imagined.
